Howth, Ireland - Cliff Walk on the Irish Sea
Howth is a seaside village on a peninsula near Dublin. We took the DART (train) from Dublin & walked up the hills above Howth village in Aug. 2017, & a grand vista from the Cliff Path along the Irish Sea opened up. The path winds through moors of heather, gorse, & bracken. Panoramic views stretch from Baily lighthouse on Howth's SE head to 2 islands in Balscadden Bay-- "Ireland's Eye" & Lambay. As we passed a limestone outcropping called Kilrock, the village of Howth came into view. Parts of the harbor were man-made to provide more protectioin for small vessels.
