Swiss Reformed Choir Visits Salford & Zion Mennonite Churches in PA
A wonderful choir from Bäretswil, Switzerland (Canton of Zurich) came to sing for us in April 2010. They wish to build relationships that were broken during persecution of the Anabaptists nearly 500 yrs. ago! What a moving and beautiful experience! The choir is from the Swiss Reformed church. The town of Bäretswil sits below the hills which hold the Täuferhöhle, or "Anabaptist Cave" where Anabaptists once gathered secretly to worship. Anabaptist groups today are Mennonites, Amish, Brethren, and others, thriving around the world as pacifists. The Swiss Reformed Church has been experiencing a reconciliation with Anabaptist groups, partly fostered through exchanges of music and dialogue. Thank you to the Swiss for your lovely, memorable music and extending your hands in friendship and joint worship. Here are some photos to remember your journey! Photos are in 4x6" format unless otherwise noted in the caption.
